Invest in Impact, Reap Results

The Alma Street Townhome project represents our best efforts to develop market rate affordable housing for the ‘build-to-rent’ market. This 4-plex townhouse project consists of 4 similar ADU cores, each centered with a 16’ by 24’, story and ½, post and beam with 14’ walls and 22’ ridge, each with garage + second story infill. We added a tower to building #2 because the views are so awesome and cost contained utilizing the Grow House concept. And, taking advantage of the tower’s height, premium second story additions are added to Townhome #2.

Alma Street Townhomes embody the “Grow House” approach to affordable housing. A Grow House plans for fully developed space, initially leaving some areas or spaces unfinished pending future development. The Grow House concept allows for high value finish work to be completed via subsequent permit, easing initial time and financing constraints.

Easy Grow House examples on Alma Street: Second story unfinished ‘storage’ spaces over the garages, with plans detailing future conversion to bedrooms; or future second story bedroom/bath spaces over the 12’ by 20’ sunroom additions. 3D models show various outcomes utilizing the Grow House concept of building out in stages.
